    Maipu is part of an area known as ‘Primera Zona’, it is one of the most sought after locations in Mendoza for premium grape vineyards and wineries.  The area is well known for producing high class wines and particularly Malbec.  Tourism is also strong in Maipu, which is part of the ‘Ruta del Vino’.  Back packers and more up market holiday makers alike flock here to visit the wineries, some on organised coach trips others fending for themselves on hired bicycles.  The tree lined streets and mountain backdrop are the perfect setting for sampling wines in the numerous old and new wineries.

    OBSERVATIONS:
    The wines are bottled in the winery after sufficient ageing (one year for the wine in barrels). The barrel / ageing room is thermally isolated and refrigerated to maintain a constant temperature of 16/17°C.

    The ideal situation for an Argentine winery is to have strong presence nationally and internationally.  The national market allows for inflationary growth in prices, whereas the international market pay in often stronger currencies.
